Last week, lawmakers at the North Carolina General Assembly were busy with committee work and floor votes. Governor Roy Cooper vetoed several bills which headed back to the legislature for final action.
This week, members of the North Carolina House will debate veto overrides that started in the Senate last week and both chambers have another full week of debate and votes before the July 4th holiday. The 2023-24 State Budget negotiations continue and are expected to be finalized in the upcoming weeks.
